Zhang Yang (director)

Zhang Yang (张扬, born 1967) is a Chinese film director known for his socially conscious and often bittersweet dramas exploring contemporary Chinese life. His films frequently focus on marginalized communities and individuals struggling to navigate the rapid economic and social changes in China.

Zhang graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing. He started his career in theater before transitioning to filmmaking.
