Jean Prévost (politician)

Jean Prévost (1901–1944) was a Swiss-born French writer, philosopher, and political activist. He was a prominent figure in the French Resistance during World War II. A member of the Libération-Sud group, he played a crucial role in coordinating resistance activities in the Lyon region. His commitment to libertarian socialism deeply influenced his political thought and actions. Prévost was known for his intellectual rigor and his dedication to fighting against fascism and oppression. His writings, both before and during the war, explored themes of freedom, individual responsibility, and social justice. He was tragically killed by the Gestapo in 1944.
