Javelin (band)

Javelin is an American indie pop band formed in Providence, Rhode Island in 2008. The band consists of cousins George Pettis (vocals, guitar, sampler) and Tom Van Buskirk (drums, vocals, organ). Javelin is known for its lo-fi production, catchy melodies, and a unique, collage-like sound that blends elements of soul, hip-hop, and experimental pop.

George Pettis and Tom Van Buskirk began experimenting with music together in Rhode Island, eventually forming Javelin. They signed with David Byrne's Luaka Bop label and released their debut album, "No Mas," in 2010. The album received critical acclaim for its innovative sound and infectious energy. They released a follow-up EP, "Canyon Candy," in 2011, and their second full-length album, "Hi Beams," was released in 2015. Since then, they have continued to perform and release music independently.
