HMS Lion
HMS Lion was the name of several ships of the British Royal Navy:
- HMS Lion (1509), a 36-gun ship launched in 1509 and rebuilt in 1536.
- HMS Lion (1540), a ship of 34 guns launched in 1540 and rebuilt in 1557 and again in 1569. She was wrecked in 1569.
- HMS Lion (1665), a 50-gun ship launched in 1665 and sold in 1698.
- HMS Lion (1709), a 60-gun fourth-rate ship launched in 1709. She was rebuilt in 1738 and broken up in 1769.
- HMS Lion (1753), a storeship purchased in 1753 and sold in 1765.
- HMS Lion (1777), a 64-gun third-rate ship launched in 1777. She was used as a sheer hulk from 1816 and broken up in 1837.
- HMS Lion (1838), an 80-gun second-rate ship launched in 1838 and broken up in 1905.
- HMS Lion (1910), a Lion-class battlecruiser launched in 1910 and sold in 1924. She participated in the Battle of Jutland.
