Uli Kusch
Uli Kusch (born March 11, 1967) is a German drummer, primarily known for his work in heavy metal and progressive metal bands.
Kusch began his professional career in the late 1980s, and gained wider recognition in the 1990s. He is most notable for his long-standing tenure in Helloween, where he played from 1994 to 2001. During this time, he contributed to several of the band's albums, including Master of the Rings, The Time of the Oath, Better Than Raw, and The Dark Ride. His drumming style is characterized by technical proficiency, speed, and groove.
Beyond Helloween, Kusch has been involved in a variety of other projects and bands. He co-founded Masterplan with fellow ex-Helloween member Roland Grapow, recording several albums with them. He has also played with Ride the Sky, Mekong Delta, and Beautiful Sin.
Throughout his career, Kusch has been recognized for his drumming skills and contributions to the heavy metal genre. He has also worked as a session musician and studio drummer. He announced his retirement from professional drumming in 2012 due to nerve damage, but later returned to music, albeit at a more limited capacity.
