Helge Hagberg (politician)

Helge Hagberg (1915 – 2000) was a Swedish communist politician. He was a prominent figure in the Swedish Communist Party (later renamed the Left Party – Communists and subsequently the Left Party) for several decades.

Hagberg was born in Järnskog, Värmland. He became involved in politics early in his life, joining the Communist Youth League in his teens.

Hagberg served as a Member of Parliament (Riksdagen) for a significant period, representing the Communist Party. He was known for his strong advocacy of workers' rights, social equality, and anti-imperialist positions.

Within the Communist Party, Hagberg held several key positions, including party secretary. He played a central role in shaping the party's policies and strategies during the Cold War era and the subsequent period of political transition.
