James Ellison (motorcyclist)

James Ellison (born 12 September 1980 in Kendal, Cumbria, England) is a British former motorcycle racer. He competed in MotoGP, World Superbike, British Superbike, and Moto2 championships.

Ellison began his racing career in motocross before transitioning to road racing. He achieved success in various national championships before making his debut in the MotoGP World Championship in 2005, riding for the WCM team. He later raced in the World Superbike Championship, securing podium finishes.

Ellison is particularly known for his long and successful career in the British Superbike Championship (BSB). He raced for several prominent teams in BSB, including Airwaves Yamaha, Hydrex Honda, and Lloyds British GBmoto Racing Kawasaki, often challenging for championship titles. He achieved numerous race wins and podiums throughout his BSB career.

In 2010, Ellison competed in the inaugural Moto2 World Championship season. After retiring from professional racing, he remained involved in the sport through coaching and other activities.
