Hap Myers (ice hockey)

Harold "Hap" Myers (born October 29, 1947) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. A defenseman, Myers played professionally in the World Hockey Association (WHA) and the National Hockey League (NHL).

Myers began his professional career in the WHA with the Winnipeg Jets in 1972, playing four seasons with the team. He was a key member of the Jets team that won the Avco World Trophy in 1976. Known for his physical play and strong defensive skills, Myers was a reliable presence on the Winnipeg blue line.

Following the merger of the WHA and the NHL, Myers was claimed by the Calgary Cowboys in the 1977 WHA Dispersal Draft, but they folded before the season began. He then joined the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL for the 1977-78 season. After one season with Los Angeles, he retired from professional hockey.

While Myers didn't achieve superstar status, he carved out a respectable career, playing a significant role in the early years of the WHA and contributing to a championship-winning team. He is remembered as a solid defensive player who provided stability and toughness to his teams.
