6 (New York City Subway service)

The 6 is a rapid transit service in the A Division of the New York City Subway. It is a local service operating at all times. During weekdays, the 6 operates in two patterns: the 6 Local, which makes all stops between Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx and Brooklyn Bridge–City Hall in Manhattan, and the 6 Express, which operates between Parkchester in the Bronx and Brooklyn Bridge–City Hall, skipping some local stops in the Bronx. During middays, rush hours and evenings, some 6 trains operate to/from a station south of Brooklyn Bridge–City Hall as the 6 Brooklyn Bridge–City Hall/Bowling Green Local. During late nights, the 6 operates only as a local between Pelham Bay Park and Brooklyn Bridge–City Hall. The 6 is colored apple green on route signs, station signs, and subway maps.
