Sun Yiwen

Sun Yiwen (孙一文, born June 17, 1992) is a Chinese épée fencer.

Sun Yiwen is a highly accomplished épée fencer representing China in international competitions. She is best known for winning the gold medal in the individual épée event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, defeating Ana Maria Popescu in the final.

Prior to her Olympic gold medal, Sun had already achieved considerable success. She was part of the Chinese team that won silver in the team épée event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She has also earned numerous medals at World Championships and other major international fencing tournaments.

Sun's success has made her a prominent figure in Chinese fencing and a well-respected competitor on the world stage. Her aggressive style and tactical awareness contribute to her success in individual and team events.
