Halushko are a staple food in Ukrainian cuisine, and are also popular in Russian, Belarusian, Slovak, Hungarian, and Polish cuisine. They are often served as a side dish, or as a main course with various toppings or sauces, such as fried onions, sour cream, cracklings, cheese, mushroom gravy, or rendered lard.
