HMS Kingfisher (P260)
HMS Kingfisher (P260) was a Bird-class patrol vessel of the British Royal Navy. Built by Hall, Russell & Company in Aberdeen, she was commissioned in 1975 and decommissioned in 1996. As a patrol boat, Kingfisher was primarily used for fishery protection duties within the UK's Exclusive Economic Zone. She patrolled the waters around the British Isles, enforcing fishing regulations and providing a visible presence to deter illegal fishing activities. Like other vessels in her class, she was designed for relatively low endurance and was typically deployed for short periods. Following decommissioning, Kingfisher was sold for scrap.
