Greatest Hits (Blink-182 album)
Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the American rock band Blink-182, released on November 1, 2005, by Geffen Records. It comprises songs spanning the band's career from 1997 to 2005, essentially covering their mainstream breakthrough period. The album's release followed a period of internal tension and eventual indefinite hiatus for the band.
The tracklist includes singles and popular album tracks selected to represent the band's most commercially successful and well-known material. Notably, it features songs from Dude Ranch, Enema of the State, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, and Blink-182, representing a broad range of their pop-punk and alternative rock styles.
In addition to previously released material, Greatest Hits includes a new song, "Not Now," and a remix of the single "Another Girl, Another Planet" by The Vandals. The album was released in multiple formats, including a standard CD and a deluxe edition with a DVD containing music videos and behind-the-scenes footage.
Greatest Hits was a commercial success, reaching high positions on album charts in several countries. It served as a retrospective of Blink-182's career before their hiatus and helped to maintain their popularity while the band members pursued individual projects. The album is often regarded as a definitive collection of Blink-182's best-known songs and a good entry point for new listeners.
