George Russell (footballer, born 1902)
George Russell (born 1902, date of death unknown) was an English professional footballer who played as an outside left.
Russell began his career with Newcastle United, though he did not make a first-team appearance for the club. He then joined Luton Town, where he played from 1924 to 1927, making over 100 appearances for the Hatters in the Football League Third Division South. His performances at Luton earned him a transfer to First Division side Portsmouth in 1927. He featured regularly for Portsmouth until 1930, before moving to Charlton Athletic. He played for Charlton Athletic between 1930 and 1932. Afterwards, Russell returned to non-league football with Northfleet United. Further details of his career after Northfleet are currently unconfirmed.
