Daylight (Duncan Sheik album)
Daylight is the fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter Duncan Sheik. It was released on February 25, 2002, on Atlantic Records. The album marked a departure from the more introspective and electronically-tinged sound of his previous work, incorporating a more organic and band-oriented approach.
The album features a diverse range of musical styles, drawing influences from folk, rock, and pop. Lyrically, Daylight explores themes of love, loss, and personal transformation. Several songs on the album reflect Sheik's experiences and observations of life in New York City.
While Daylight received generally positive reviews from critics, it did not achieve the same commercial success as his self-titled debut album. Despite this, it remains a well-regarded album among Sheik's fans and is considered a significant entry in his discography, showcasing his evolution as a musician and songwriter. Notable tracks from the album include "On a High," "Such Reveries," and "Half a Room." The album's production was handled primarily by Patrick Dillett, who also worked with Sheik on his previous albums.
