Thong Lan
Thong Lan is a district (อำเภอ, amphoe) in the Chaiyaphum Province of northeastern Thailand. It is situated in the northwestern part of the province.
History
The district was established on July 1, 1997, when it was split off from Kaset Sombun district. All parts used to be part of Kaset Sombun district.
Geography
Thong Lan borders Kaset Sombun to the south and west, Phu Khiao to the east, and Khon San to the north. The topography is largely characterized by rolling hills and forested areas. The area is part of the Phu Phan mountain range.
Administration
The district is divided into five sub-districts (tambons), which are further subdivided into 43 villages (mubans).
The five tambons are:
- Thong Lan (ทองหลาง)
- Nong Tum (หนองตูม)
- Huai Yai Chi (ห้วยยายจิ๋ว)
- Nong Klang Dong (หนองกลางดง)
- Kut Tum (กุดตุ้ม)
There are no municipal (thesaban) areas within the district. The tambons each have their own Tambon Administration Organization (TAO).
