Live On (The Seekers album)
Live On is a studio album by the Australian folk-pop group The Seekers, released in 1968. It was the last album recorded by the original lineup of Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Keith Potger, and Bruce Woodley before Durham left the group to pursue a solo career. The album's title track, "Live On," written by The Seekers' member Bruce Woodley, became a significant hit and is considered one of their signature songs.
The album features a mix of original compositions and cover versions. While retaining the group's characteristic harmonies and folk influences, Live On also explores a slightly more contemporary pop sound than some of their earlier work.
Following Durham's departure, The Seekers disbanded, though various incarnations of the group have reunited and toured over the years with different lead vocalists. However, Live On remains a key album in their discography, marking the end of their most commercially successful era. The album's release was accompanied by promotional appearances and performances, further solidifying the band's popularity at the time.
