George (1993 TV series)
George was a short-lived American comedy television series that aired on ABC as part of its TGIF lineup from September 24, 1993, to December 10, 1993. The series was a spin-off of the popular sitcom Full House.
The premise of George centered around George Papadoupolous (played by Jason Marsden), the teenage son of Nicky and Alex Katsopolis' nanny, Irene Papadoupolous (played by Gia Carides). Irene moves back to Greece, leaving George to live with his uncle, Joey Gladstone (played by Dave Coulier).
The show followed George's experiences adapting to life in San Francisco and navigating his new surroundings while living with Joey and the extended Tanner family. The storylines revolved around typical teenage issues, such as school, friendships, and dating, often played for comedic effect within the established Full House universe.
Despite its connection to Full House, George failed to capture a significant audience and was cancelled after only 11 episodes. Critics generally found the show to be derivative and lacking the charm of its parent series. While some enjoyed Marsden's performance, the show struggled to find its own identity and establish a unique voice. Reruns of the show have rarely aired since its initial cancellation.
