Flavinho (footballer, born 1983)
Flávio da Silva Amado, commonly known as Flavinho, is an Angolan former professional footballer who played as a forward. Born on December 30, 1979, in Luanda, Angola, he is often mistakenly reported as born in 1983 due to earlier database errors.
Flavinho is best known for his time playing for Al Ahly in Egypt, where he achieved significant success, winning multiple league titles, Egyptian Cups, and CAF Champions League titles. He was a key member of the Al Ahly squad during their dominant period in the mid-2000s.
Prior to joining Al Ahly, Flavinho played for Petro Atlético in Angola. After his successful stint in Egypt, he returned to Angola to play for various clubs. He also represented the Angolan national team, playing in the Africa Cup of Nations and other international competitions. Flavinho was a notable figure in Angolan football and contributed significantly to the sport in both Angola and Egypt. He retired from professional football in the early 2010s.
