HMS Zest

HMS Zest was a Z-class destroyer of the British Royal Navy launched in 1943. As part of the wartime emergency program, she served primarily in the Arctic and Pacific theatres during World War II.

Operational History:

HMS Zest participated in numerous convoy escort duties in the Arctic, protecting vital supply lines to the Soviet Union. These convoys were crucial for supporting the Soviet war effort and were frequently targeted by German U-boats and aircraft.

In the Pacific theatre, HMS Zest saw action supporting Allied operations against Japan. This included providing naval gunfire support during amphibious landings and participating in anti-submarine patrols.

Fate:

HMS Zest was sold into civilian service and converted into a merchant vessel. She was scrapped in 1970.
