Ederlezi (song)

Ederlezi is a popular traditional folk song of the Romani people living in the Balkans, particularly those of the Gorani community. The song celebrates Đurđevdan (Saint George's Day), a spring festival celebrated on May 6th (Gregorian calendar) or April 23rd (Julian calendar), which is of particular importance to the Romani. The title "Ederlezi" is derived from the Romani name for Đurđevdan.

One of the most well-known versions is by Goran Bregović, featured in Emir Kusturica's film Time of the Gypsies (Dom za vešanje).
