HMS Vanessa (D29)

HMS Vanessa (D29) was a V-class destroyer built for the Royal Navy during the First World War. Launched in 1917, she saw service during the war, participating in anti-submarine patrols and convoy escort duties. Following the end of the war, Vanessa remained in service with the Royal Navy. She was later converted to a minelayer in 1939, shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War. During the Second World War, Vanessa was deployed primarily in the North Sea, laying mines and performing escort duties. She was scrapped in 1945.
