Púchov
Púchov is a town in northwestern Slovakia, located in the Trenčín Region, near the border with the Czech Republic. It sits on the Váh River.
Historically, the area was settled in prehistoric times. The first written mention of Púchov dates back to 1243. The town is situated in a strategic location, which has contributed to its historical importance as a trading post.
Modern Púchov is a primarily industrial center. The town is known for the Matador rubber factory (now Continental Matador Rubber), a major employer in the region. Other industries include engineering and construction.
