ESTCube-1

ESTCube-1 was Estonia's first satellite. It was a student satellite project launched as part of the European Space Agency's (ESA) educational program. Its primary mission was to test an electric solar wind sail (E-sail) concept in low Earth orbit.

Mission Objectives:

The main objective of ESTCube-1 was to deploy and test a thin wire tether, utilizing electrostatic forces from the solar wind for propulsion. This experiment aimed to provide proof-of-concept for the E-sail technology, which could potentially revolutionize deep-space exploration.
