McGoohan

McGoohan refers primarily to Patrick McGoohan (1928-2009), an Irish-American actor, writer, and director. He is best known for creating and starring in the British television series The Prisoner (1967-1968), in which he played Number Six, a former intelligence agent who is abducted and held in a mysterious village.

McGoohan's career spanned several decades, encompassing stage, film, and television. Before The Prisoner, he gained recognition for his role as John Drake in the television series Danger Man (known in the United States as Secret Agent). His film credits include Ice Station Zebra (1968), Escape from Alcatraz (1979), Scanners (1981), Braveheart (1995), and A Time to Kill (1996).

Beyond his acting contributions, McGoohan was a skilled writer and director, often incorporating philosophical and social commentary into his work.
