Donald Murphy (actor)

Donald Murphy (1923 – 2008) was an American film and television actor. He was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, but raised in the United States.

Murphy is perhaps best known for his roles in films such as The Frogmen (1951) where he played Lt. Pete Vincent, and Walk East on Beacon! (1952). He frequently played military roles, capitalizing on his strong features and commanding presence.

Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Murphy appeared in numerous television series, including Dragnet, The Adventures of Superman, Gunsmoke, The Twilight Zone ("The Old Man in the Cave"), Perry Mason, Bonanza, The Outer Limits, and The Fugitive. He often played supporting characters, typically law enforcement officers, doctors, or military personnel.

He continued to work in television and film until the late 1970s, with guest appearances on shows like The Streets of San Francisco and Barnaby Jones. He passed away in 2008.
