Richard Britton (motorcyclist)

Richard Britton (1970 – 2005) was a Northern Irish motorcycle racer. He was a prominent figure in Irish road racing, known for his distinctive riding style and competitive spirit. Britton achieved numerous victories and podium finishes in various classes, including Superbike, Supersport, and Production classes. He raced extensively at circuits such as the Tandragee 100, Cookstown 100, North West 200, and the Ulster Grand Prix.

Britton was particularly renowned for his expertise in preparing and developing his own machinery. He often raced privately, modifying and improving his bikes to extract maximum performance. This hands-on approach, combined with his natural talent, earned him considerable respect within the racing community.

Tragically, Richard Britton was killed in an accident during the 2005 Ballybunion Road Races in County Kerry, Republic of Ireland. His death was a significant loss to Irish motorcycle racing, and he is remembered as a talented and dedicated racer. He is survived by his wife and children.
