D520 road

The D520 is a state road in Croatia connecting the D1 state road near Korenica to the D8 state road in Sveti Juraj. The road serves as a significant connection route, particularly for traffic heading towards the Adriatic coast and bypassing some of the more congested routes closer to the coast. The D520 provides access to the Plitvice Lakes National Park from the coastal side and is thus heavily used by tourists during peak seasons. The road's route traverses mountainous terrain, presenting scenic views but also requiring careful driving, especially during winter conditions when snow and ice can be prevalent. The D520 is maintained by Hrvatske ceste, the Croatian road authority. The road is a two-lane road for most of its length.
