Don Carey (cornerback)

Don Carey is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at Norfolk State University. Carey was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

Carey played in the NFL for several seasons, primarily as a special teams player and reserve defensive back. He played for the Cleveland Browns (2009-2010), Jacksonville Jaguars (2011), and Detroit Lions (2011-2017). While he occasionally saw action as a cornerback, his primary role in the NFL was as a special teams captain for the Lions. He was known for his leadership and contributions on special teams units.

After retiring from the NFL, Carey became involved in community outreach and philanthropic endeavors, focusing on youth development and education.
