Amphitrite (1794 ship)
The Amphitrite was a 44-gun fifth-rate frigate of the Royal Navy, launched in 1794. She was built at Bursledon and served during the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars. Her career included convoy escort duties, patrols in the Atlantic and Mediterranean, and participation in actions against French and Spanish vessels. Notably, the Amphitrite was involved in the capture of several privateers and merchant ships. She was eventually broken up in 1819.
