Dietmar Schwarz (boxer)

Dietmar Schwarz (born in Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany) is a former East German amateur boxer. He is best known for winning a bronze medal at the 1982 World Championships in Munich in the Light Middleweight (-71 kg) division.

Schwarz also competed at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals in the Light Middleweight division where he lost to Armando Martínez of Cuba. He won several medals at national East German championships during his career. His boxing style was generally considered aggressive and reliant on forward pressure. After retiring from active competition, Schwarz worked in various capacities within the East German and later unified German boxing structures, often focusing on youth development. His legacy remains primarily tied to his World Championship medal.
