James Boyle (diplomat)
James Boyle is a Canadian diplomat who served as the Ambassador of Canada to Chile from 2017 to 2021. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, Boyle held various positions within Global Affairs Canada, including Director General of the Trade Portfolio Strategy Bureau. He also served in diplomatic posts in Washington, D.C., and Mexico City. Boyle's career has focused on international trade, economic policy, and Canada's relations with the Americas. He holds a BA (Honours) in Economics from Queen's University and an MA in Economics from the University of Toronto. Following his tenure as Ambassador to Chile, he returned to Ottawa to continue his work at Global Affairs Canada.
