Desensitized (Drowning Pool album)

Desensitized is the second studio album by American rock band Drowning Pool, released in 2004. It is the only album to feature vocalist Jason "Gong" Jones, who replaced Dave Williams after his death in 2002. Musically, Desensitized retains some of the nu-metal elements of their debut album Sinner, but also incorporates elements of alternative metal and hard rock.

The album received mixed reviews upon release. Some critics praised Jones' vocal performance and the band's attempts to evolve their sound. However, other critics felt that the album lacked the raw energy and memorable songwriting of Sinner, and that it sounded generic compared to other bands in the metal scene at the time.

Desensitized spawned two singles: "Step Up" and "Feel Like I Do". "Step Up" was featured on The Punisher soundtrack and became a moderate hit for the band. The album itself reached number 17 on the Billboard 200 chart. Despite charting higher than their debut, Desensitized is generally considered a less commercially successful album than Sinner. Jason "Gong" Jones left Drowning Pool shortly after the album's release, citing creative differences. He was later replaced by Ryan McCombs.
