Cracked (Canadian TV series)

Cracked is a Canadian police procedural television series that aired on CBC from January 8, 2013, to July 21, 2014. Created by Tracey Forbes and Calum deHartog, the series focused on the Psych Crimes and Crisis Unit, a newly formed unit of the Toronto Police Service staffed by police officers and psychiatric professionals. The team's mandate was to respond to emotionally disturbed individuals involved in criminal activity, often dealing with situations where mental health issues were at the forefront.

The series starred David Sutcliffe as Detective Aidan Black, a seasoned officer struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder. He is partnered with Dr. Daniella Ridley (played by Stefanie von Pfetten in season 1 and Brooke Nevin in season 2), a psychiatrist who provides crucial insights into the mental states of suspects and victims. The show also featured Luisa D'Oliveira as Detective Poppy Wisnefski, Karen LeBlanc as Inspector Diane Caligra, and Dayle McLeod as Leo Beckett.

Cracked aimed to realistically portray mental illness and its impact on individuals and communities. The show was notable for its attempt to destigmatize mental health issues and promote understanding of psychological disorders.
