Michael McDonald (runner)

Michael McDonald (born July 12, 1975) is a retired Jamaican sprinter who specialized in the 400 meters. He represented Jamaica at the Olympic Games in 1996, 2000, and 2004, as well as several World Championships in Athletics.

McDonald is best known for his performances as part of the Jamaican 4x400 meter relay team. He won a bronze medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics as part of the relay team, although he only ran in the heats. He later earned a silver medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, running in the final of the 4x400 meter relay.

Individually, McDonald achieved personal bests of 44.64 seconds in the 400 meters. He was a consistent competitor on the international athletics circuit throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, contributing significantly to Jamaica's success in the 4x400 meter relay.
