Straight Shooter (James Gang album)
Straight Shooter is the fourth studio album by American rock band James Gang, released in 1972. It marked a significant change in the band's lineup and sound. After the departure of guitarist Joe Walsh, the band recruited Domenic Troiano to fill the void. Troiano's influence brought a more blues-rock and jazz-infused direction to the album, departing somewhat from the hard rock sound that defined the band's earlier work.
The album features original compositions as well as covers. Notable tracks include "Didn't We Have a Nice Time," "Get Her Back Again," and "Madness." Straight Shooter showcases Troiano's guitar playing and songwriting talents, demonstrating a different style than what fans were accustomed to with Walsh.
While not as commercially successful as some of James Gang's earlier albums, Straight Shooter remains an important part of their discography, representing a transitional period and highlighting the band's adaptability and willingness to explore different musical styles.
