Malvési
Malvési is a geographical location in France, specifically an area within the commune of Narbonne in the Aude department, Occitanie region. It is historically significant as the site of a former uranium ore processing plant operated by the French company Areva (formerly Cogema). The plant processed uranium ore concentrates (yellowcake) to produce uranium tetrafluoride (UF4), a crucial step in the nuclear fuel cycle. The Malvési site has been the subject of environmental monitoring and remediation efforts due to past industrial activities and the potential for residual radioactive contamination. It remains a point of interest regarding nuclear materials processing and environmental management in France.
