Heritage House (Riverside, California)

The Heritage House, located in Riverside, California, is a Victorian-era home built in 1891 for Catherine Bettner, the widow of prominent Riverside businessman and citrus grower, James Bettner. Designed by renowned architect John Walls, it exemplifies Queen Anne style architecture and features elaborate detailing including stained glass windows, decorative woodwork, and a prominent turret.

Initially located on Magnolia Avenue, the house was later moved to its current location at 8193 Magnolia Avenue to save it from demolition. It is now owned and operated by the City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and serves as a museum.

The Heritage House museum offers guided tours showcasing the lifestyle of a wealthy family in Riverside during the late 19th century. The interior is furnished with period pieces and artifacts, providing visitors with a glimpse into the past.
