Caren Lay

Caren Lay (born 13 December 1972 in Hoyerswerda) is a German politician and a member of the Left Party (Die Linke). She served as a Member of the German Bundestag from 2009 to 2021, representing Saxony. Lay focused primarily on housing policy and urban development. She served as the housing policy spokesperson for the Left Party parliamentary group. Before entering the Bundestag, Lay was active in local politics in Saxony. After leaving the Bundestag, Lay became a state secretary in the Saxon State Ministry for Regional Development in December 2022.
