Ramlieh

Ramlieh (also spelled Ramliya, Ramlia, and other variations based on transliteration from Arabic) is a Palestinian village located in the Galilee region of northern Israel. It lies approximately 10 kilometers east of Acre (Akko) and is part of the Misgav Regional Council. The village is primarily inhabited by Bedouin Arabs belonging to the Sawa'ed tribe. The economy of Ramlieh is based on agriculture, particularly olive groves and livestock farming. The village faces challenges related to land ownership, infrastructure development, and access to services, which are issues common to many unrecognized Bedouin villages in Israel. Ramlieh lacks official recognition from the Israeli government, which affects its residents' access to basic utilities and services such as water, electricity, and sewage systems. This lack of recognition also limits the villagers' ability to build permanent structures and obtain building permits. Historical land claims and disputes over land ownership are ongoing.
