Edward Harris (Irish judge)
Edward Harris (born 1941) is a retired judge of the High Court in Ireland. He was appointed to the High Court in 2002 and served until his retirement in 2011. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Harris was a prominent barrister specializing in commercial law. He was called to the Bar in 1964 and became a Senior Counsel (SC) in 1980.
During his time on the High Court, Harris presided over a wide range of cases, including commercial disputes, judicial reviews, and personal injury actions. He is known for his meticulous approach to legal analysis and his clear and concise judgments. Since retirement from the High Court, he has remained involved in legal matters, serving as an arbitrator and mediator in commercial disputes.
