Wendy (singer)
Wendy Son (손승완), professionally known as Wendy, is a South Korean-Canadian singer and voice actress. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Red Velvet, formed by SM Entertainment in 2014.
Early Life and Education: Wendy Son was born on February 21, 1994, in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul, South Korea. She is a Canadian citizen and lived in Brockville, Ontario, Canada, and later in Minnesota, United States, before auditioning for SM Entertainment. She attended Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Faribault, Minnesota, where she excelled academically and musically.
Career: Wendy debuted as a member of Red Velvet in August 2014. Prior to her debut, she was part of SM Rookies, a pre-debut training team of SM Entertainment trainees. As a member of Red Velvet, she has released numerous hit songs and albums, contributing to the group's success both domestically and internationally.
Solo Activities: In addition to her group activities, Wendy has engaged in solo activities, including singing original soundtracks (OSTs) for various Korean dramas. She has also participated in collaborative projects with other artists. She made her official solo debut on April 5, 2021, with the EP "Like Water."
