Bama (band)

Bama was a Christian rock band formed in Birmingham, Alabama, in the late 1970s. The band's core members included Rick Cua (bass, vocals), Dan "Moose" Brown (guitar, vocals), and Bruce Brown (drums, vocals).

Bama's music blended elements of Southern rock, hard rock, and CCM (Contemporary Christian Music). They were known for their energetic live performances and their socially conscious lyrics, often addressing issues such as poverty, injustice, and personal faith.

The band released several albums throughout the 1980s, including Bama (1980), Keep the Fire Burnin' (1981), and Rock Solid (1982). Their music received radio airplay on Christian radio stations across the United States.

Bama toured extensively throughout the US and internationally, opening for or sharing the stage with other prominent Christian artists of the time.

After Bama disbanded in the mid-1980s, Rick Cua pursued a successful solo career in CCM, while other members continued to be involved in music and ministry. Bama is remembered as an influential band in the early days of contemporary Christian rock.
