The Escape (2009 film)

The Escape is a 2009 American made-for-television drama film directed by Darnell Martin. It premiered on Lifetime Movie Network on October 17, 2009. The film stars Brittany Murphy and is based on the novel "False Face" by Wendy Corsi Staub.

The plot centers on Abby Jones (Murphy), a woman in the Witness Protection Program, formerly known as Lisa Thomas, who is hiding from a dangerous criminal she helped put in prison. Years after testifying, she believes she's finally safe and starts to build a new life, including a relationship with a man named Paul. However, her past catches up with her when her location is compromised, forcing her to confront the dangers she thought she had left behind and decide whether to continue running or fight back.
