Gunsight Pass (Sawatch Range, Colorado)

Gunsight Pass is a high mountain pass located in the Sawatch Range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, United States. The pass crosses the Continental Divide and provides access between the watersheds of the Arkansas River to the east and the Gunnison River to the west. It is situated within the boundaries of the San Isabel National Forest and the Gunnison National Forest.

Typically snow-covered for a significant portion of the year, Gunsight Pass is primarily used by hikers and backpackers during the summer and early fall months. There is no maintained road crossing the pass; access is via trails. The trails offer views of surrounding peaks and alpine landscapes. Due to its high elevation and exposed nature, weather conditions at Gunsight Pass can change rapidly.

The pass is not particularly notable for historical significance, major resource extraction, or significant engineering works. Its importance lies primarily in its function as a route for backcountry recreation and its location along the Continental Divide Trail.
