The Walk (2001 film)
The Walk is a 2001 American made-for-television drama film directed by Robert Dornhelm. The film stars William H. Macy, Jeremy Renner, and Lynn Redgrave. It is based on the novel of the same name by Richard Paul Evans.
The film tells the story of Norman, a successful but workaholic advertising executive who suffers a heart attack. Following his doctor's advice, Norman decides to reconnect with his estranged family by embarking on a cross-country walk from Seattle to his hometown in Rhode Island. During his journey, he encounters various challenges and meets diverse individuals who help him re-evaluate his life and priorities. He confronts his past mistakes, repairs his relationships with his wife and children, and learns the importance of family, forgiveness, and living in the present.
