Rendez-Vous (band)

Rendez-Vous was a French post-punk band formed in Paris in 2012. Known for their dark, atmospheric sound and driving rhythms, the band drew influences from groups like Joy Division, Bauhaus, and The Cure. Their music often incorporates elements of coldwave and noise rock.

The band consisted of Francis Mallari (vocals), Maxime Gendre (guitar), Antonin Barry (bass), and Simon Dubourg (drums). Rendez-Vous garnered attention in the mid-2010s with the release of several EPs and singles, building a following through their intense live performances.

While praised for their sonic landscape and intense energy, Rendez-Vous experienced periods of inactivity and shifts in their lineup. They released their debut full-length album, "Superior State," in 2018. The album solidified their reputation for creating bleak and unsettling soundscapes.

As of the early 2020s, the band's status remained somewhat unclear, with less frequent performances and releases compared to their earlier years. Despite this, their impact on the contemporary post-punk scene and their contribution to the French coldwave revival are notable.
