Raškovice
Raškovice is a village and municipality in Frýdek-Místek District, in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It is located in the foothills of the Beskydy Mountains. The population is approximately 2,000. The municipality covers an area of approximately 8.7 square kilometers.
Raškovice is known for its proximity to popular hiking and skiing areas. The economy is primarily agricultural, with some tourism. The village has a primary school, a kindergarten, and several shops and restaurants. The local landmark is the Church of Saint Michael the Archangel.
Historically, the area was part of the historical region of Silesia. After World War I, it became part of Czechoslovakia. Following the Munich Agreement in 1938, it was annexed by Nazi Germany. After World War II, it was returned to Czechoslovakia. Since 1993, it has been part of the Czech Republic.
