Jan Mulder (footballer)
Jan Mulder (born May 4, 1945) is a Dutch former professional footballer, writer, columnist, and television personality.
Mulder began his professional football career with Anderlecht in Belgium, where he played from 1965 to 1972. During his time with Anderlecht, he won four Belgian league titles (1965–66, 1966–67, 1967–68, 1971–72) and one Belgian Cup (1971–72). He was a prolific goalscorer, known for his intelligent play and technical skill.
From 1972 to 1975, Mulder played for Ajax in the Netherlands. While there, he contributed to their success, although he did not achieve the same level of individual acclaim as he did at Anderlecht.
Mulder also played for the Dutch national team, earning 38 caps and scoring 12 goals. He participated in the 1974 FIFA World Cup, where the Netherlands finished as runners-up.
Following his retirement from professional football, Mulder transitioned into a career as a writer, columnist, and television personality. He is known for his outspoken opinions and insightful commentary on football and current affairs. He has written several books and contributes regularly to various media outlets. He is considered a well-known and respected figure in Dutch public life.
