Jorge Sanz (basketball)

Jorge Sanz (born August 16, 1969) is a retired Spanish professional basketball player. He played primarily as a point guard and spent the majority of his career in the Spanish ACB League.

Sanz began his professional career with Real Madrid Baloncesto, where he played from 1986 to 1999. During his time with Real Madrid, he won multiple ACB League championships, Copa del Rey titles, and a EuroLeague title in 1995. He was known for his playmaking abilities, court vision, and defensive tenacity.

After leaving Real Madrid, Sanz played for other Spanish clubs, including Fuenlabrada and CB León. He retired from professional basketball in 2003.

Sanz was also a member of the Spanish national basketball team, representing his country in numerous international competitions, including the EuroBasket championships and the Olympic Games. He was part of the Spanish team that won the silver medal at the 1983 EuroBasket held in Nantes, France (although this was before the main part of his career).

Throughout his career, Jorge Sanz was recognized as one of the top point guards in Spanish basketball history and a key figure in Real Madrid's success during the 1990s.
